All hair is removed from the belly button down and includes the front of the pubic bone, all the way down and around including around the anus. Before the service begins, you are welcome to discuss with your Esthetician if you'd like to leave a small strip up front. Most clients want to remove all of the hair.

Now just speaking with the new folks....YES a Brazilian HURTS! Especially the first time because your follicles are not used to stretching when the bulb of the hair is pulled in waxing. It takes some number of times to train the

follicles to relax. If you stay on a 4-8 weeks waxing schedule it won't hurt as much as the first time, because all of the hair doesn't grow back on the same cycle. There's not as MUCH hair at one time when you are on a schedule.

So, with that in mind, our clients usually schedule their next appointment while they are at the current visit.

Your Esthetician will choose if they are using hard or soft wax as it really depends on how short is the hair, texture of the hair, location on the body and what directional patterns your hair grows in. Everyone is different. Everyone's hair patterns are different. Your own left and right could be different. It is recommended that you come to your appointment with 1/2" of overall hair growth so that it can be removed properly.

Warning: There needs to be a minimum of 3 weeks hair growth with no trimming, shaving or topical hair removers. Hair needs to be the length of a grain of rice. You will be charged 100% of the service price if you schedule a wax appointment and do not have enough hair growth to perform the service. If you book an appointment and decide on the same day, without following our cancellation policies, that your hair is not long enough you will still be charged for the full appointment.

The Benefits of Waxing

Waxing is considered to be the most effective method for removing unwanted hairs from practically any part of the body. Waxing is the epilation method which ensures complete removal of hair shafts from underneath the surface of the skin. It is one of the most long lasting temporary hair removal methods and is ideal for both women and men. Generally it is observed that it takes almost 3-6 weeks for new hair to grow back in the waxed area.

Softer and Finer Body Hair: After waxing the new hair that grows back are soft and fine. The other advantage of waxing is that it does not cause ugly stubble which is usually associated with shaving.

Long Lasting Smooth and Silky Skin:  As mentioned earlier, waxing removes the hair from the roots; hence it takes longer for new hair to grow back. Duration of growth of new hair varies from person to person and skin types, but generally it is observed that it takes around 3-8 weeks. Waxing ensures long periods of smooth, silky and hair free skin.

Diminishes Hair Growth: Repeated and regular waxing diminishes hair growth. Gradually you will observe sparse and scanty hair growth which might even lead to complete cessation of hair growth. Now that is not a promise, only an observation with some hair types.

Cost Efficient: As compared to other hair removal techniques, waxing is the most cost efficient method.

Tips for Successful Waxing: The hair need to be at least 1/2” long prior to your waxing appointment. That is the length of a grain of rice. If not, the wax may not adhere to the hair. Do not expose yourself to direct sunlight in the 24 hours before waxing and especially in the 48 hours after it. Avoid wearing tight clothing. Also, avoid hot baths, use of fragrant creams and lotions, and especially body scrubs for the next 24 hours. Some people may get redness, bumps or skin irritation after waxing, which usually subsides within a few hours. If you are using Vitamin A creams or tablets like Differin, Retin-A, or Isoretinoin, it is strongly recommended that you do not wax, because these medications make the skin more prone to tearing when you peel off the wax. Do not wax on irritated, broken, chapped skin or on moles.

Did you know there are three stages of hair growth?

It is very important to understand these three stages of hair growth. They are anagen, catagen, and telogen. It takes 4 to 13 weeks for the hair to grow from the papilla to the surface of the skin depending on part on the areas of the body. How much hair you have is predetermined by genetics. These stages have to be taken into consideration when scheduling hair removal appointments. Normally, repeat visits are necessary. Not all hair grows at the same rate and hairs are at different growth stages in the follicle. Two hairs can be growing next to each other and be at different stages of growth. For example, hairs removed in the anagen stage, while the hair bulb is more “active”, will be more effective for long-term hair reduction. This is why regular, repeat visits will produce optimal results, as opposed to scattered appointments.

Important Notice:  Sanitation is an important part of hair removal procedures. Taking measures to prevent the spread of infectious and contagious diseases are always primary concerns. The Estheticians here, at The Garden, take a thorough client consultation and review hair removal contraindications and cautions that are necessary before providing any hair removal service. State Board Rules are fervently followed and if we deem that any procedure is risky for the client, we retain the right to refuse that service or delay it until it is safe. We appreciate your understanding in that we operate to maintain your safety/health, maintain State Board regulations, and protect our professionalism at all times.
